After the introduction in this chapter, I will look at education as the context for a relationship between psychology and education in chapter 2. In this chapter I examine education as a field of practice which requires practical theory. I also examine whether there are grounds for seeking a scientific basis for education. I argue that multiple values are intrinsic to education and its aims and that different educational theories are interconnected. I also show that different educational theories assume different models of the learner and learning.
